Stexerol-D3 is available in two doses, which align with the recommended treatment regimens identified by The Royal Osteoporosis Society (ROS).1,2

Loading:

A loading regimen to provide a total of approx. 300,000 IU given as either separate weekly or daily doses over 6–10 weeks.2

Maintenance:

Maintenance therapy comprises vitamin D in doses equivalent to 800–2,000 IU daily (occasionally up to 4,000 IU daily), given as either daily or intermittently at higher doses.2

How to achieve the ROS recommended therapy using Stexerol-D3.1

Load:

300,000 IU over 6 weeks

  • Rx 2 x 25,000 IU Stexerol-D3 tablets taken weekly for 6 weeks
  • Rx 3-4 x 1,000 IU Stexerol-D3 tablets taken daily for 10-12 weeks

Maintain:

1,000 IU daily*

  • Rx 1 x 1,000 IU Stexerol-D3 tablet taken daily*
  • Rx 1 x 25,000 IU Stexerol-D3 tablets taken once per month*

*Higher doses of up to 4,000 IU / day or up to 50,000 IU / month may be required in certain situations if patients cannot be maintained at the lower doses.

The ROS guidelines recommend an oral dose of Vitamin D3 is the treatment of choice.2 Film-coated tablets are easily swallowed, which may positively impact patient preference.

Stexerol-D3 is gelatin-free, meaning it is suitable for patients who follow vegetarian diets; however, it does contain lanolin contained from the wool of sheep, therefore it may not be suitable for vegans.1
