HOW TO PRESCRIBE

RECTOGESIC 4 mg/g Rectal Ointment is indicated in adults for relief of pain associated with chronic anal fissure.

How to prescribe

RECTOGESIC is the only treatment licensed in the UK specifically for relief of pain associated with chronic anal fissure.^1,2

When conservative treatment has failed, prescribe 2 x 30g tubes of RECTOGESIC to provide up to 8 weeks of treatment.

RECTOGESIC should be continued until the pain abates, up to a period of 8 weeks.¹
When applied every 12 hours as prescribed, one 30g tube contains enough RECTOGESIC for 40 days’ treatment (approximately 5 weeks).¹

Prescribe RECTOGESIC first line to treat the pain of chronic anal fissure when conservative treatment has failed.
